Will Nate Landman have to step up even more with the loss of Quentin Lake? Landman has been on a heater with the Los Angeles Rams, and it all started in Week 1 when he basically forced a game winning fumble against the Houston Texans. Since then, Landman has continued to be critical to the Rams and their ability to win.
With Lake out, the Rams will need players to step-up, can Landman step up even more? Or should other players be expected to carry the load? Whether Landman’s leadership role increases or not, he’s done a lot of the Rams already and I am not sure what more can be asked of him.
We’ll have to keep watching to find out.
We made it, Saturday! Enjoy any college games if you want and get ready for a big-time prime time Sunday Night Football game featuring your L.A. Rams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“While it will be tough for anyone to step up and fill Lake’s shoes on the field, Rams linebacker Jared Verse revealed a pair of defenders who are really stepping up as leaders on that side of the ball.
“[Nate] Landman has definitely stepped up in that speaking role,” Verse told reporters on Thursday. “Landman leads on the field and he leads when he’s calling the plays. He’s taken the spot of ‘Q-Lake’s [leadership]. Kobie Turner has done that too. They’re both taking up that role, giving those long speeches that they give on Wednesdays and Thursdays. To know that they’re taking that over, it’s a good feeling.”
“But in July 2022, after Cleveland traded for Deshaun Watson, Mayfield was dealt to the Carolina Panthers for a conditional fourth-round pick. After winning the quarterback competition during training camp, he injured his ankle in Week 5 and eventually lost the starting job.
During the Panthers’ Week 10 bye that season, Mayfield and his wife, Emily, went to Cabo. On their way back, Mayfield talked to his agent, who gave him a heads-up that he was hearing that the quarterback might be a healthy scratch for Carolina’s next game.
That Monday, Mayfield got a text to come to Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks’ office, where Mayfield was told he was going to be the team’s third-string quarterback that week against the Seattle Seahawks. The other option, he was told, was that he could be released.“
