“1) Bennett delivers in the clutch, continues to look comfortable and confident. He completed 28 of 40 pass attempts for 324 yards and three touchdowns against one interception Saturday night against the Chargers. His best throw of the day was on his second touchdown pass, a 38-yard laser to wide receiver Mario Williams at the end of the third quarter. Bennett also rebounded from an interception thrown to Chargers defensive tackle TeRah Edwards to lead the Rams on the game-winning drive at the end of the fourth quarter.
Through the Rams’ first two preseason games, Bennett has completed 44 of 64 passes for 512 yards and five touchdowns against two interceptions.“
“So the Stafford saga plays on, incrementally worsening as the Sept. 7 opener against the Houston Texans draws near.
Stafford, 37, is preparing for his 17th NFL season.
Check that: He would be if not for a back issue that has prevented him from taking a single snap or throwing a single pass during a team practice.“
“The Rams have some incredibly difficult decisions to make in the next week or so, particularly on the offensive line, defensive line, at linebacker and cornerback. They’re going to be forced to cut some really good players who could contribute as practice squad members, assuming they clear waivers and return to L.A.
With two preseason games in the books, both of which were wins, here’s our latest projection of the Rams’ 53-man roster. There weren’t too many changes from last week’s projection, but each preseason game creates more competition across the board.“
