Newly drafted tight end Terrance Ferguson may rise the Los Angeles Rams depth chart quickly, but for now I am still going to suspect that Tyler Higbee will be the top tight end in L.A. Higbee has been solid in Sean McVay’s scheme and he’s played well with Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford.

Will be Ferguson really be able to replace Higbee right away? You never know, but I don’t see it, not yet anyways.

It’s Monday, please comment on whatever you want and thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!

Los Angeles Rams Veteran Named Expendable After 2025 Draft (lafbnetwork)

“As Bleacher Report wrote in their article, ‘The Best Player Who Could Still Be Cut from Every NFL Roster In 2025 Offseason,’ “Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee was a regular contributor in the offseason before missing most of last season following a 2023 torn ACL. Higbee, who had 495 receiving yards two seasons ago, is now 32 and entering a contract year. L.A. just used a second-round pick on tight end Terrance Ferguson, and it would have both Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen for depth if Higbee was released.

Ferguson — Oregon’s all-time leader in receptions and touchdowns by a tight end — whom the Rams selected with the 46th pick in April. Nick Baumgardner graded the pick, “One of the steadiest and most dependable tight ends in what is a terrific TE class, Ferguson is a great run-after-catch player who can win in the air at 6-5, 249 and could be a total beast in Sean McVay’s offense before too long. Need more from him as a blocker, though. I had Miami’s Elijah Arroyo, also a great athlete who would’ve been a fit here, a bit higher – but TE is absolutely a need for the Rams and this is a great fit. Grade: A-“

Los Angeles Rams Rival Gets Distinct 2025 Advantage (lafbnetwork)

“Shanahan and the 49ers enter the season with a chip on their shoulder, coming off a disappointing 6-11 campaign. However, many believe the league has set them up for a rebound. “It is set up for the 49ers to win,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on The Adam Schefter Podcast. “They play the AFC South, the NFC South, a last-place schedule… maybe the most favorable schedule in the National Football League.”

Despite Schefter’s take, some are skeptical that the 49ers’ path is as smooth as advertised. “The 49ers are getting five primetime games because the franchise is a massive brand,” one observer noted. “The Cowboys went 7-10 last season and got six. It’s branding. Plus, primetime games can be flexed, so the NFL isn’t locked in.”
