Random Ramsdom: Reportedly Sean McVay really liked this player

I cannot confirm this story, but it’s interesting because reportedly Sean McVay’s favor of cornerback Jourdan Lewis is what helped lead the Jacksonville Jaguars to signing him. Any chance the Rams made an offer to Lewis this offseason? Not sure, but it’s food for thought, especially given that observers are concerned about L.A.’s cornerbacks.

Supposedly, McVay feels Lewis is tough to gameplan against, so with the Jaguars and Rams set to play this year McVay is going to need to figure Lewis out once again.

Me personally, I actually think the secondary will be fine, but we’ll see. I can be wrong.

How James Gladstone’s time with Rams may have influenced this Jaguars free agent signing (jagswire)

“ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano recently spent a day at Jaguars’ training camp. In his notebook, one of the nuggets of information that Graziano shared was that while Gladstone was in LA, the Rams were very interested in Lewis.

“The addition of former Cowboy Jourdan Lewis in free agency was a big one for former Rams exec Gladstone, who said L.A. tried to get him several times over the years because Sean McVay always said he was especially tough to game-plan against,” Graziano wrote. “The Jags believe Lewis is already having an impact as a leader in that room.”

Back at center after a year in Chicago, Coleman Shelton was again calling protections, identifying blitzers, and bringing calm to a Los Angeles Rams offensive line that unraveled without him late last season.

“It’s always great working with Coleman,” said veteran right guard Kevin Dotson. “He’s like the smartest center I’ve ever worked with. He’s talking a lot. He tells you everything that you need to know, and he makes the game easier.”

“After nearly two weeks of practice at Loyola Marymount, the Los Angeles Rams are already done with training camp for 2025. They held their 10th and final practice on Sunday and after going through a jog-through on Monday, they’ll look toward this weekend’s first preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Training camp flew by in the blink of an eye but there was plenty to take away from the last two weeks at LMU. Sean McVay was pleased with the work the Rams got in on both sides of the ball, though he still sees room for growth before Week 1. And while we wait for Stafford’s long-awaited return to practice, Jimmy Garoppolo and...
