Random Ramsdom: Is Sam Darnold in a better system than last year?
Turf Show Times Turf Show Times

Last year, the Los Angeles Rams beat Sam Darnold and Minnesota Vikings twice, and this year Darnold is playing with the Seattle Seahawks, so will Darnold be better with the Seahawks? The same? Or worse? And, is Darnold in a better system in Seattle than he was in with the Vikings?

I think it’s fair to say that Seattle has a better team than the Vikings (did they last year too?), but is Darnold in a better system? I don’t know.

Sean McVay said that Darnold is in a “really good system” as he and his Rams prepare for a massive regular season game against Seattle.

Last year, Darnold had Kevin O’Connell calling players, and Justin Jefferson. Now, Darnold has Clint Kubiak calling plays and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Both seem like good situations to me.

Rams Sean McVay Shares Thoughts on Seahawks QB Sam Darnold (si.com)

“Darnold himself has thrown for 2,262 yards, 17 touchdowns and six interceptions. McVay spoke about Darnold in his presser.

“I’ve seen a lot of the same things that made him great last year in Minnesota,” stated McVay. “I think he’s in a really good system. I think he does an excellent job of recognizing whatever the coverages are and being able to get the ball where it should be. You can see he does a great job of playing in time and in rhythm.”

Rams LT Alaric Jackson sued over alleged non-consensual video which prompted 2024 suspension (cbssports)

Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson faces a lawsuit from a Philadelphia woman, who alleges that the fifth-year NFL veteran recorded her without her consent during sex, denied her requests to delete the video and taunted her with its existence. The lawsuit states that the woman reported the incident to the NFL and that the league investigated and suspended Jackson.

The woman, unnamed in the lawsuit, alleges violations of gender violence and revenge porn laws and accused Jackson of invasion of privacy, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress and fraud. She initially reported the incident to the Los Angeles Police Department but elected not to pursue a criminal case and instead reported it to the NFL.“

Rams Named Landing Spot For Troubled Eight-Time All-Pro Player (heavy.com)

“The team has had multiple blocked field goals and missed kicks this season, forcing the team to find a new kicker. LA signed a temporary replacement, but will need a more reliable, consistent option on the field while debating the two options on the 53-man roster.

LA is tied for the best record in the NFC at 7-2, but could have had the best in the conference and tied for the best in the NFL if special teams had stepped up.“
