Patrick Mahomes’ grandfather is in hospice care, as revealed by Randi Mahomes on Friday.
The news came just days before the Chiefs host the Bills in the AFC Championship game Sunday.
Randi announced on Instagram that her father is in hospice, months after revealing a previous hospital stay.
In an Instagram Stories upload, Randi shared an image of herself and her dad alongside a caption referencing the bible verse Colossians 3:20: “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.”
“My dad is in hospice, and I’m lost for words 🙏🙏🙏,” Randi Mahomes wrote over the image.
Heartbreaking: #Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes mother, Randi, posted that her father is now in hospice.

Months before, Mahomes previously shared posts about her father not being well but did not dive into the details of his diagnosis.
Neither Patrick Mahomes nor his wife have publicly addressed the situation.
If the Chiefs win, they head to New Orleans, where they will try to become the first NFL team to win three consecutive Super Bowls in Super Bowl LIX.
The Chiefs could either be laying the Philadelphia Eagles or Washington Commanders.
It does not appear that Randi Mahomes will be able to make the AFC Championship as it looks right now.
Losing a parent is never easy, and knowing that it is on the horizon makes it especially heartbreaking.
The Kansas City Chiefs are one win away from punching their ticket to their third straight Super Bowl, but Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his family are dealing with great pain.
While Mahomes remains focused on defeating Buffalo on Sunday, his mother, Randi Mahomes, revealed her father is in hospice care.
