Looking to get back in the win column, the Los Angeles Rams travel to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland for a Sunday October 12 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. PST. Both teams are looking to rebound after Week 5 losses. L.A. lost to their arch-rival, the San Francisco 49ers 26-23 in overtime, while the Ravens were given a 44-10 whipping at the hands of the Houston Texans.
The big news is that a hamstring problem will force Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, a two-time NFL MVP, out of his second consecutive game. That leaves Baltimore’s offense in the hands of backups Cooper Rush or Tyler Huntley. Rush took over for Jackson midway through a 37-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs two weeks ago and got the start in last week’s loss. Huntley spent the first three games of the season on the practice squad and was elevated for Texans game. He is expected to be activated for Sunday.
There’s a golden opportunity for the Rams to get back on the winning track after last week’s gut-wrenching loss. L.A. QB Matthew Stafford and his offensive cohorts should feast on the Ravens defense, one of the league’s worst. Baltimore ranks dead last (32nd) in points given up, drives ending in scores, and first downs allowed. They sit at 31st in total yards allowed, passing yards per game, and red zone touch down percentage.
Since the Ravens contentious move from Cleveland in 1996, they have met up with the Rams nine times. Baltimore leads the series 6-3 and has a 2-1 advantage since Sean McVay took over as Rams coach in 2017. In the last meeting in December 2023, the Ravens rode a 76 yard punt return touchdown to a 37-31 overtime win.
