Puka Nacua is not used to playing defense since he is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.
Unfortunately, he has to play defense off the field.
Back in May, the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver and his girlfriend, Hallie Aiono, announced they were expecting a son. Aiono announced her pregnancy in an Instagram Mother’s Day post featuring Nacua.
“You were something we always dreamt of, but I have never been so afraid. I wasn’t planning for this now, but I know your timing is divine,” Aiono wrote on Instagram.
“There are a lot of ‘why’s’ in life currently, but I know that for the rest of my life, you will be my ‘why’. I can’t wait to love you forever, my sweet boy.”
Things have changed between them since that announcement.
Puka Nacua’s girlfriend has asked a court to confirm the NFL superstar is the father of her unborn baby, TMZ Sports has reported.
According to records they obtained, Aiono filed a petition to determine parental relationship against Nacua in Los Angeles County back on June 16.
The documents state she was 19 weeks pregnant and wanted a court to affirm it’s Nacua’s child. Aside from that, she also asked the court to award joint legal custody, but to give her full physical custody and only visitation rights to Nacua.
Additionally, Aiono is demanding cash from Puka Nacua for “reasonable expenses” related to the pregnancy and birth — as well as attorneys’ fees.
Nacua and Aiono have been dating at least since he played at BYU in 2021.
Drafted by Los Angeles in the fifth round of the 2023 draft, Nacua earned a Pro Bowl nod and finished as Offensive Rookie of the Year runner-up after leading the Rams with 1,486 receiving yards in 2023.
After missing six games of the 2024 campaign with a knee injury, his numbers dipped as he recorded 990 receiving yards.
Nacua is set to enter the 2025 season once more as a top option for Matthew Stafford.
