With Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua displaying their connection in Saturday’s wild-card playoff game against the Carolina Panthers, the wide receiver has shown how versatile he is with the plays he made. As the Rams look to bring their Super Bowl hopes alive, Nacua will no doubt be key to the run, especially if he performs as he did on Saturday.

Besides the receiving score he had in the first quarter, he also recorded a touchdown on the ground, scoring on a five-yard run for his second of the game. There will no doubt be questions about it being a rushing touchdown or not, but it was counted as such since the ball was technically thrown by Stafford behind him to Nacua.

As the second score came with 12:22 left in the second quarter, the first came with 11:38 left in the first, where Stafford found Nacua up the middle for a 14-yard touchdown. That drive came at ease for Los Angeles, as Nacua found Stafford throwing to him in three of the four plays in the scoring drive.

Nacua’s early performance for Los Angeles in the first half against the Panthers in the playoffs is a microcosm of his season as a whole, where he caught a career-high and an NFL-high 129 passes for 1,715 yards to go along with 10 touchdowns. It has led to an unbelievable connection with Stafford, leading some to believe the team could go very far in the playoffs.

At any rate, the Rams look to handle business against the Panthers on Saturday and make major noise in the postseason, as the team has real title asprations.
