Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson was arrested last week on a domestic battery charge. The case is still under review at this time, but a notable development has recently taken place.
Jackson will not face felony charges, as detailed by Dennis Broad of NBC4 Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has sent the case to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office with misdemeanor charges still possible. Jackson’s arrest stemmed from an alleged incident in which Jackson believed he was being filmed by a woman on her phone and attempted to take it out of her hand. Investigators found scratch marks on the alleged victim’s arms.
Jackson was arrested and booked in the early hours of June 9 before being released on a $50K bond later that day. His situation is still unclear with the case being reviewed, but the fact he will not face felony charges is a significant development. Any league investigation into the matter will not begin until after all criminal proceedings have run their course, as is standard practice regarding domestic violence allegations.
“We are aware of the incident regarding Alaric Jackson, and we take these matters very seriously,” a statement from the Rams reads. “Due to this being an ongoing legal situation, we cannot comment further at this time.”
Jackson, 27, served a two-game suspension to begin the 2024 season for a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. A civil suit was filed in November 2025 by the woman involved in that alleged incident. Jackson was accused in that case of recording the woman during sex without her consent and then refusing to delete the video.
Each of Jackson’s five NFL seasons have come as a member of the Rams. The former undrafted free agent has spent the past three years as Los Angeles’ starting left tackle, and he is in position to do the same again in 2026. His contract runs through the next two seasons.
