The Los Angeles Rams beat up on the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 31-21, and this was a case where the final score somewhat told the story as the Rams looked better than Dallas in just about every aspect of the contest.
Stetson Bennett put up better numbers than Joe Milton, L.A.’s running game appeared more reliable, and Chris Shula’s defense and Ray Blackburn’s special teams took care of their business. If you were rooting for the Rams, then there was a lot to like here.
For Dallas, they have to hope that this is a case of, “It’s only preseason” as they looked outmatched for the majority of the game. The Rams took the initial lead, and never lost it.
In all candor losses in the preseason are more than alright because Dallas can watch the tape, regroup and continue to prep for the games that matter.
For the Rams, it’s unlikely, but for all we know, this is the Rams only win of the year, so the team might as well enjoy their victory, even if it doesn’t count the way their games will in a few weeks. A win is a win, and some of these young guys showed out, so even if they don’t make the final roster with L.A., there’s a chance they’ll be able to make a team elsewhere.
No, preseason isn’t as fun as regulation games, however there was still plenty to watch and enjoy in this one and now the Rams can prepare for the Los Angeles Chargers when they face off for another preseason match on August 16th.
