Buffalo Rumblings
The playoffs are here, Rumblers! Super Wild Card Weekend gets underway this afternoon with a pair of Saturday playoff games heavy on NFC action. The Buffalo Bills don’t play until Sunday, with a 1 p.m. EST game in Duval County, FL against the Jacksonville Jaguars. But for today, we’ve got plenty of action to enjoy!
First up, the Los Angeles Rams are in the Carolinas, set to face the Carolina Panthers at 4:30 p.m. EST. Though they didn’t win the NFC West, the Rams are likely to be one of the toughest outs in the entire playoffs. Can the Panthers find just enough magic to pull off what would be a massive upset? They didn’t win the NFC South without a ton of luck and plenty of similar magic, so it’s unfair to say they have no chance this afternoon.
At 8 p.m. EST, it’s an NFC North showdown between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. A once seemingly invincible Packers team has fallen back to reality a bit, while the Bears are a team that can run up a score on anyone, and did so against the San Francisco 49ers just a couple weeks ago. Still, Green Bay comes into this game with a fair bit more playoff experience against a Chicago team that’s been the talk of the league following an incredible turnaround under first-year head coach Ben Johnson. Don’t discount Johnson’s familiarity with the Packers, given his prior experience as offensive coordinator with the Detroit Lions.
