Rams add to DL depth with Decarius Hawthorne
The Los Angeles Rams added to their defensive line depth ahead of offseason workouts and training camp. They’ve signed rookie Decarius Hawthorne, who spent time in rookie minicamp with the Buffalo Bills.
Hawthorne played four college seasons at Florida Atlantic University. He transferred to the University of South Florida for his final year in 2024.
According to Pro Football Focus (PFF) tracking data, Hawthorne mostly aligns as an EDGE player though he does have inside versatility. Hawthorne’s best season came at USF where he notched 36 total pressures on 672 defensive snaps. He played just 841 snaps in his four years at FAU accumulating 42 pressures over that time.
Dane Brugler’s “The Beast” draft guide for The Athletic rates Hawthorne as the 114th defensive tackle in the 2025 NFL Draft class, which means he was on the radar but did not make the cut to get a write up.
