The Las Vegas Raiders will begin their home season Monday night when they host AFC West foe the Los Angeles Chargers at Allegiant Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT.
Let’s take a quick look at the Chargers:
Record:
The Chargers are 1-0. They won 27-21 over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 5 in Brazil. So, they will have more rest than the Raiders.
Renewed rivalry:
Raiders coach Pete Carroll and Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh are longtime rivals. They coached against each in College (Carroll at USC and Harbaugh at Stanford) and in the NFC West when Carroll coached the Seattle Seahawks and Harbaugh led the San Francisco 49ers. It has been an intense rivalry, but they respect each other. It will be fun to see them go against each other again.
Last meeting:
The Chargers beat the Raiders 34-20 at Allegiant Stadium in Week 18 last year in Antonio Pierce’s last game as the team’s coach. The Chargers swept the season series with the Raiders last season.
