While the Las Vegas Raiders now have quarterback Fernando Mendoza, head coach Klint Kubiak knows their offense is far from complete. Adding a player like Stefon Diggs to the wide receiver room may give the team a spark.
But as it stands, that move doesn’t appear to be in the cards for Las Vegas. The Raiders believe in their current collection of wide receivers. Furthermore, Diggs may be unwilling to sign with a team not in the playoff picture in the first place, via Sam Warren of the Athletic.
“First, I think the Raiders have a lot more confidence in their wide receiver group than those on the outside looking in,” Warren said. “Yes, it’s true that there’s not a lot of proven production in the room. But the team is banking on that being due to limited opportunities, not limited talent.”
“I would never rule anything out, as general manager John Spytek has shown he’s not timid to make moves,” he continued. “But given the team’s belief in its current group and the status of the current roster, I’d say a Diggs signing remains unlikely.”
As it stands, Tre Tucker, Jack Bech and Jalen Nailor are expected to be the Raiders’ top three receivers. Tucker led the team with 696 receiving yards last season, ranking second with five touchdowns. He’ll be looked at to take a step forward in 2026.
So will Bech, who was a second-round pick in 2025. He went on to catch 20 passes for 224 scoreless yards as a rookie. Nailor signed in free agency after spending four years with the Minnesota Vikings. In 2025, he set new career-highs in receptions (29) and yardage (444), adding four touchdowns.
Perhaps if Las Vegas’ receiving corps struggle in training camp, Las Vegas decides to add some external help. But for now, don’t expect Diggs to be wearing a Raiders jersey in 2026.
