With the Las Vegas Raiders getting ready for the 2026 season, one storyline that fans are watching surrounds defensive star Maxx Crosby and his trade status, especially after the failed deal with the Baltimore Ravens earlier in the year. As Crosby hopes to be fully ready by Raiders training camp after an offseason knee surgery, his name has appeared again in trade rumors.
According to Las Vegas insider Hondo Carpenter, “there is still enormous interest” in Crosby from other teams that look to add one of the better pass rushers in the league. Carpenter would be sure to say that while there isn’t a deal in place or even that the team is looking to trade him, the interest is still there.
“That doesn’t mean a deal is imminent, or that the team is shopping him, or that he is asking to be moved. It is simply the reality that, with the interest there to the extent it is, it makes it a viable potential subject,” Carpenter said.
Regarding his health, he has been participating in the team’s offseason activities, though not as a full go, as seen in Jesse Merrick’s video last Wednesday.
“Maxx Crosby has been out here with the team each and every day going through the warmup,” Merrick wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “He says he’s close to returning. So he should be good to go by training camp, as was the plan.”

Looking at the teams that could go after the Raiders star in Crosby, Carpenter would report that the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers are two that have interest, as said on his podcast.
“I am telling you there is a lot of interest in Maxx Crosby. Two teams specifically are nuclear hot: the Eagles and the 49ers,” Carpenter said on Sunday.
It remains to be seen if Crosby is traded to another team or stays with Las Vegas, as the team looks to improve after finishing with a league-worst 3-14 record. The Raiders open the season at home against the Miami Dolphins.
