The Raiders recently signed young tight end
The Las Vegas Raiders signed tight end Qadir Ismail as a free agent recently.
Let’s take a closer look at Ismail:
Size:
6-7, 250 pounds.
NFL experience:
Ismail signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2024. After being cut in August, he was signed to the practice squad. The Ravens did not re-sign him this offseason.
College:
He went to Villanova in 2018 as a quarterback, but then was converted to wide receiver. he transferred to Samford for the 2022-23 seasons.
Raiders’ family connection:
Ismail’s uncle is Raghib “Rocket” Ismail, the former Notre Dame speedster who played for the Raiders from 1993-95. His father is Qadry Ismail, who was an NFL wide receiver for nine seasons.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Ismail, 25, has a uphill climb to make the team. His best bet may be to earn a role on the practice squad and then try to develop and get promoted at some point during the 2025 season.
