While Jermod McCoy was considered one of the better cornerback prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft, he fell to the fourth round due to injury issues. The Las Vegas Raiders are now hoping they just landed a steal.

McCoy hasn’t been fully active during OTAs, still working his way towards full health. But during training camp, Las Vegas expects the rookie to be ready to go, via Vincent Bonsignore of the California Post.

“CB Jermod McCoy is on target for full participation in Raiders camp,” Bonsignore wrote. “As we’ve previously reported, he’s currently on a management program, which is why he hasn’t always been on the field during OTAs. But there are no new issues with the knee.”

The report doesn’t confirm whether or not McCoy will be available from the first day of training camp. Still, the fact he is expected to be fully cleared is telling. If the cornerback wants to make an impact on the Raiders, at least as a rookie, he must prove he is fully past his ACL tear. Fully participating in training camp would be a great way to do that.

McCoy was named Second-team All-American and All-SEC in his lone season with Tennessee. The cornerback put up 44 tackles, nine passes defended and four interceptions. His potential still remains clear.

But McCoy must first get healthy. Essentially every team in the league didn’t think that was a guarantee, which is why he slipped to the fourth round. But if McCoy is truly available come training camp, the Raiders will have an intriguing piece in their secondary to work with.
