All the latest NFL news and rumors
We’re into the second month of the Las Vegas Raiders’ 2025 offseason after a 2024 season which didn’t go as hoped and the team is looking toward the future. We’re collecting all the news, injury reports, signings, rumors, and everything you need to follow the Raiders and the NFL in the month of February.
We’ll update everything below in reverse chronological order:
February 21
12:38 p.m.: Mike Caldwell, who coached the Raiders’ linebackers in 2024, has been hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the inside linebackers coach.
February 19
11:07 a.m.: The 2025 salary-cap is going to be higher than expected per ESPN. The Raiders, according to Over The Cap, are projected to have $99 million in cap room, the second most in the NFL. Most teams, though, are in good cap shape in a year where the free-agent class is not considered overly strong.
6:30 a.m.: The Raiders cut cornerback Keenan Isaac. He was signed to the practice squad during the 2024 season. Isaac was in Tampa Bay with new Raiders’ general manager John Spytek.
6:16 a.m.: The Los Angeles Chargers will be the host team in Brazil on Friday night of Week 1. Thus, the Raiders could be their opponent there.
February 18
2:22 p.m.: Interesting note on Sam Darnold’s contract from ESPN’s Dan Graziano. The Vikings pushed the void date back on Byron Murphy’s and Aaron Jones’ contracts, making them ineligible for the franchise tag, but Minnesota didn’t do the same with Darnold. The veteran quarterback has been linked to the Raiders during the early stages of the offseason.
10:08 a.m.: John Madden’s grandson, Jesse Madden, is following in his grandfather’s footsteps. The Commanders have hired Jesse as an offensive quality control coach. This is his first season as coach and in the NFL. He was a quarterback and defensive back at Michigan, graduating recently.
February 17
1:15 p.m.: A potential free agent target for the Raiders, wide receiver Tee Higgins, is reportedly going to get franchise-tagged. So, Las Vegas will likely have to trade for Higgins to add him to the wide receiver corps.
February 14
7:30 p.m.: The Jaguars have been busy looking into more current or former Raiders staffers. Assistant general manager Champ Kelly interviewed for Jacksonville’s vacant GM job on Friday.
12:53 p.m.: Former assistant quarterbacks coach Fred Walker has a new home. He’s joining Liam Coen’s staff in Jacksonville.
February 6
6:14 p.m.: Despite having a record-setting season, Brock Bowers did not earn Offensive Rookie of the Year. Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels won the award with a commanding (no pun intended) 49-1 vote. Bowers did, however, receive the lone non-Daniels vote.
Full vote breakdown, including second-, third-place and so on votes.
10:00 a.m.: Maxx Crosby said this is the most optimistic he’s been about the Raiders after the team hired Pete Carroll as head coach. Cosby raised concerns about the team’s future a few months ago and brought up his contract...
