The Raiders fell to 1-3 following a heartbreaking 25-24 loss to the Bears which ended in a blocked FG attempt. Despite the loss, the Raiders defensive line looked back to form even with just one sack. The Raiders are credited with over 25 pressures on the immediate game post look with Crosby leading at 9. Maxx Crosby was a wrecking crew vs the Bears logging 3 TFL, 3 PBU, 2 quarterback hits, a FF (should be his third this season, but somehow just his first), and an interception. The Bears ran towards Crosby once recording a rush for five yards. Crosby also added a FF when ran towards, though it wasn’t a designed run and didn’t count. The Raiders continued their dominance as a run defense allowing just 69 yards on 26 attempts (2.7 ypc) and logging 8 TFL along with an initial look of 15 run stops (2-3 yard plays).
The Raiders had the upper hand in both pass rush and run defense against the Bears and it showed despite the loss. The Raiders defense pressured Caleb Williams on almost over 40% of his attempts while also holding the Bears rushing offense in check. The Raiders saw Crosby’s dominance but also some improvement from Malcolm Koonce who logged a TFL and a 15% pressure rate (on initial look). Tyree Wilson logged the Raiders sole sack along with a TFL as well. The Raiders have seen ups and downs from their defensive line this season, but week fours performance shows a ton of promise going forward in the season with young players developing. The interior defensive line saw success as well with Thomas Booker logging over 5 pressures, Adam Butler 3, and rookie JJ Pegues made a run stuff and recorded 1 pressure as well.
