The Las Vegas Raiders open their preseason schedule Thursday at the Seattle Seahawks. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. PT.

Here are five things to look for in the game:

The rookies:

We may not see first-round pick, running back Ashton Jeanty in Seattle, but we should get a solid look at the rest of the Las Vegas Raiders’ 11-player draft class in addition to their undrafted players. The Raiders are excited about their rookies. It will be fun to see how they compete in a game situation.

The trenches:

Depth on both the offensive and defensive line is crucial. There a re lot of young players on both the offensive and defensive lines for the Raiders and the competition will go down to the wire. So, tonight is important for these groups.

Coaching vibes:

The Raiders are under a new head coach for the third time in four season as Pete Carroll takes over. Carroll preaches cpmpetiton and high energy. It will be fun to see how this group perform under Carroll after a start of training camp that has featured intensity and fast-paced play.

Health:

Healthy, health, health. Staying as healthy as possible in the preseason is paramount. No injuries.

Pete’s return:

Carroll is beginning his Raiders’ game journey where he had a 14-season run that ended after the 2023 season. Carroll made the Seahawks a consistent winner and they hoisted the Lombardi Trophy under his leadership. Carroll is special to Seattle and vice versa. Expect some emotions that usually doesn’t happen in the preseason and expect the Seattle crowd to give Carroll a nice ovation.
