It was Quinshon Judkins’ world on Sunday at Huntington Bank Field, and there was nothing the Miami Dolphins could do about it.

While the rookie running back may have come up short of his second 100-yard rushing day of the season, his three touchdowns were the fuel the Browns needed to take down the Dolphins on a windy and rainy day along the lakefront.

Judkins first scored on a 46-yard run, and then followed that up with a three-yard touchdown run to help the Browns take a 11-point lead into halftime. He completed his big day in the fourth quarter with a two-yard touchdown run as the Browns broke their three-game losing streak with the 31-6 victory.

It marked the first time a Cleveland running back had three rushing touchdowns in a game since Nick Chubb scored three times against the New York Jets in Week 2 of the 2022 season.

Judkins is the first Cleveland rookie to have three rushing touchdowns in a game since Travis Prentice’s monster day in Week 6 of the 2000 season.

A third-round selection by the Browns in 2000 NFL Draft, Prentice had rushed for 63 yards over the first five games of that season. But on a warm afternoon against the Arizona Cardinals at Sun Devil Stadium, Prentice rushed 28 times for 97 yards.

Cleveland opened up a 14-point lead on the Cardinals as Prentice scored a pair of one-yard touchdowns. The Cardinals came back with 26 consecutive points, before a six-yard touchdown run from Prentice pulled the Browns back within five points early in the fourth quarter.

Arizona turned in an 11-play, 72-yard drive that ended with a 28-yard field goal by Cary Blanchard that pushed the lead to eight points and took 5:59 off the clock. Cleveland had one final drive, but turned the ball over on downs to seal the defeat.

That day in the desert turned out to be the high point of Prentice’s two-year NFL career. He went on to finish his rookie season with 512 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. The Browns traded Prentice, quarterback Spergon Wynn and a 2002 seventh-round draft pick to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a 2002 fifth-round selection right before the start of the 2002 season.

Prentice only rushed 14 times for 13 yards in his one season in Minnesota, then spent a brief time with the Houston Texans (2002) and the Cardinals (2003) before being released by the Cardinals in the final roster cutdown before the 2003 season, which ended his NFL career.
