It shouldn’t be understated how fortunate a player has to be to get through their first season, or any season for that matter, without a serious injury. It’s a luxury Cleveland Browns rookie Quinshon did not get to enjoy, although he came close.
The running back was carted off following a horrific injury against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The result, a loss, was disappointing in more ways than one.
For one, the Browns lost one of their most electric players. But they also came close to upsetting Buffalo. Who knows? They may have gotten the win had Judkins been on the field.
The former Ohio State RB had just made a catch when he was wiped out by a Bills defender, resulting in a broken leg. The collision was so nasty, it was not shown on replay.
Cleveland fans received the worst possible update shortly after the injury.
Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot noted that the player sustained a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle. He is expected to be out for 4-5 months.
Judkins has since undergone surgery. His mother, Teva Judkins, was at his bedside in the wake of the operation and shared a photo of them together via X.
“So grateful for the prayers, love, and support. Shoutout to the @Browns team and medical staff for taking care of him and us….It means so much❤️,” she wrote.

Judkins entered the pros following stints at Ole Miss and Ohio State, having tallied close to 3,800 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns. An exciting downhill runner, he had no difficulty getting playing time as a rookie.
His first season showcased his explosive acceleration, as well as his ability to absorb hits and pick up yards after contact. He was also effective in pass protection and could function as a checkdown receiver. Unfortunately, the latter set the stage for his devastating injury.
He ends his rookie campaign with 230 carries for 827 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. The 1,000-yard mark was definitely within reach.
Meanwhile, the 3-12 Browns have nothing left to play for, save draft positioning. They will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17.
