The Jets try to put together back to back wins when they face the first place Los Angeles Rams on Sunday

The Los Angeles Rams have only beaten the New York Jets once since 2005, in a 9-6 win eight seasons ago, but will be heavy favorites on Sunday. They are 8-6 and tied atop the NFC West, having won three games in a row. They also have had extra time to prepare after beating the 49ers 12-6 last Thursday night. The Jets are coming off a win in Jacksonville and will look to pick up a meaningless late season win over the Rams, much like they did in 2020.

Let’s break down the Rams roster, going position-by-position:

Quarterbacks

Matthew Stafford has four game winning drives this year, which is a big deal for a Rams team which has seen 11 of their 14 games decided by one score.

The veteran has had a consistent year with a 66 percent completion percentage and a 19:7 touchdown to interception ratio. Two weeks ago, he had a season-high 320 passing yards in a 44-42 win over the Bills, although that was his first 300 yard game since the opener.

Stafford no longer offers any kind of run threat, as he has just 29 yards on 21 carries this year.

Jimmy Garoppolo is the backup and Stetson Bennett is also on the roster. Neither of them has taken a snap yet this season.

Offensive Line

The Rams have been forced to make multiple changes on their offensive line this year, but right guard Kevin Dotson has been the one mainstay, starting every game and doing an excellent job as a run blocker.

They have veterans at the tackle positions, with Rob Havenstein on the right and Alaric Jackson on the left. Havenstein has missed four starts and Jackson, who leads the team with seven offensive penalties, has missed two.

Last year’s second round pick Steve Avila was the opening day starter at left guard, but he got injured in the opener and landed on injured reserve, missing seven games. He’s back as the starter now, but he has struggled in pass protection.

The other starter is sixth round rookie Beaux Limmer, who stepped straight into the line-up at center and has only missed one start. He has also struggled in pass protection.

Due to the starters missing 14 games between them, the Rams have had to call on their reserves regularly.

Warren McClendon has started four games at tackle, but gave up five sacks in those games. Tackle Joe Noteboom and guards Justin Dedich and Jonah Jackson have also started multiple games, as did guard Logan Bruss, who was released in November.

The only other lineman on the roster is Dylan McMahon, who hasn’t played yet. He is a rookie who was a sixth round pick for the Eagles but failed to make their roster.
