President Trump Offers NY Giants Coaching Search Advice That His Biggest Haters Would Agree With
Sportsnaut Sportsnaut

In a very random post on Saturday, President Donald Trump urged the New York Giants to make a specific person their next head coach. And his suggestion is one even his biggest haters in the team’s fanbase would agree with.

In November, the Giants did something they always try to avoid: Firing a head coach during the season. But Brian Daboll gave management no choice. After a pair of losing seasons, he began 2025 by starting 2-8 and blowing sizable fourth-quarter leads on multiple occasions.

Now, they are deep in their search for his replacement. Since they moved on from franchise legend Tom Coughlin in 2015, the team has had six different men as head coach. The organization is hoping they can once and for all find a person who can hold on to the job for more than three years.

One of the various candidates is the recently fired former Baltimore Ravens head coach, John Harbaugh. A man with an impressive resume that includes a Super Bowl win, 2019 Coach of the Year honors, and reaching the playoffs in 12 of his 18 seasons. Many NY Giants fans would love it if the team hired the 63-year-old.

President Trump Demands the NY Giants Hire John Harbaugh

Well, you can also count United States President Donald J. Trump among those who would like to see Harbaugh get the job, too. “The New York Football Giants should hire, without question, John Harbaugh – And John, a great guy, should TAKE THE JOB!!!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

While he is the most divisive president in American history, and surely has his detractors among NY Giants fans, hiring Harbaugh to be the team’s next head coach is a rare moment where President Trump and some of his haters can agree.

The Athletic’s Ian O’Connor reported on Saturday that “Giants GM Joe Schoen has had direct contact with John Harbaugh and that those talks have been positive.” While they aren’t close to signing him yet, the NFL insider claims Schoen has been “relentless” in his push to bring the coach to New York.
