For those who saw the video of President Donald Trump blatantly cheating in a round of golf at his Trump Turnberry course in Scotland, you might not be surprised to learn that it wasn’t his first time playing dirty on the greens.
On the weekend, a viral video surfaced of Donald Trump cheating during his round of golf at Trump Turnberry in Turnberry, South Ayrshire, Scotland. As the President was driving up to a bunker in his golf cart, an assistant could be seen throwing out a ball for him to hit out of the rough:

Judging by the location of that bizarre scene, we’re guessing that Trump lost his ball in the fescue and didn’t want to take a stroke penalty? If not for the cameras, his assistant would have helped him get away with a dirty trick.
But as previously stated, this is far from Donald Trump’s first time cheating on the greens. Legendary sportswriter Rick Reilly published a book, Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump, in 2019, which details the President’s long history of breaking the rules.
At Golf.com, Reilly documented a story about Trump cheating during a round with former NFL head coach Jon Gruden, ex-Philadelphia Eagles star QB Ron Jaworski and legendary commentator Mike Tirico. Trump and Gruden played against “Jaws” and the Sunday Night Football commentator in a match.
Here’s what happened after Tirico hit a practically perfect shot with his 3 wood:
“The thing had the flag covered from the start. It crested the hill perfectly and was going to be tight to the pin. Shocked at his sudden skill, Tirico high-fived his caddie and strode toward the green, his shoes barely touching the grass.
But, somehow, when they got there, the ball wasn’t near the pin. It wasn’t even on the green. It was 50 feet left of the pin, in the bunker. Unless it hit a drone and ricocheted sideways, there was no physical way it could’ve ended up there.
‘Lousy break,’ Trump said to Tirico, who checked the marking on the ball to be sure it was his. It was. Befuddled, it took Tirico two swipes to escape the bunker on the way to a 7.
‘Afterwards,’ Tirico remembers, ‘Trump’s caddy came up to me and said, ‘You know that shot you hit on the par 5? It was about 10 feet from the hole. Trump threw it into the bunker. I watched him do it.’”
So, either physics was defied and Tirico’s ball magically disappeared, or Trump blatantly cheated in a round of golf. You decide which one is more likely.
