Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph hopes to win the starting job this season, and in the meantime, he is embracing his city off the field as well.

The 29-year-old spent the weekend speaking with President Donald Trump at the US Steel-Nippon merger event in Pittsburgh.

Rudolph was seen joining the crowd with Steelers safety Miles Killebrew, sitting alongside steel workers.

He would eventually take the stage alongside Trump.

“I think he’s going to get a big shot,” Trump said of Rudolph, who is back with the Steelers after playing for the Titans last year.

That is when Trump made the following prediction about Mason Rudolph.

“He’s tall, he’s handsome, got a great arm, and I have a feeling he’s going to be the guy.”

“I’m honored to be here with a great Steeler legend like Rocky Bleier, somebody who fought for our country in Vietnam and came back and played some great football for the black and gold,” Rudolph said. “Awesome to be here, part of this big investment in Pittsburgh. Go Steelers.”

Mason Rudolph’s Starting Position Depends On the Status of Aaron Rodgers

Mason Rudolph is currently a potential starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but his status as the starting quarterback is uncertain due to the possibility of Aaron Rodgers joining the team.

Pittsburgh completed its first week of OTAs without the four-time league MVP.

Rudolph is smart enough to realize how the NFL works. If Rodgers signs with Pittsburgh, it’ll essentially be understood that the four-time league MVP and future Hall of Famer will quickly ascend to the No. 1 spot on the depth chart.

Rudolph returned to Pittsburgh this past offseason after one season with the Tennessee Titans, signing a two-year, $7.5 million deal.
