Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson kicked off his post-game press conference with an update on the players who were injured in Sunday’s 24- 24 tie against the Miami Dolphins. The severity is yet to be determined, and we may learn more during the week, but for now, these five players were dinged up in the game.
Linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga left the game with a shoulder injury, and he was called questionable to return. Running back Travis Homer was also called questionable when he left with a calf injury. Safety Major Burns was ruled out when he left the game after injuring his knee. Cornerback Terell Smith was ruled doubtful to return after leaving with a groin injury.
Rookie Luke Newman, who received the start at left guard today, is in concussion protocol. He had been getting practice reps at all three interior positions.
During the game, sideline reporter Lou Canellis gave an update on cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who is on the NFI list.
“Oh yeah. Jaylon has been doing a really good job with his rehab. He’s a consummate pro. He’s in all the meetings. No concern there, but we’re going to take it day by day, week by week and whenever he is ready, he is going to be out there and ready to go.”
Offensive linemen Kiran Amegadjie, Bill Murray, and Doug Kramer Jr., nickelback Kyler Gordon, defensive tackle Shemar Turner, and running back Roschon Johnson were all held out of the game with various injuries. Corner Zah Frazier didn’t play as he’s been away dealing with a personal issue.
