Prescott leads the NFL in yet another stat after victory in Washington
Inside The Star Inside The Star

The Dallas Cowboys may not have helped themselves in draft position, but their victory over the Washington Commanders on Christmas Day brought joy to fans’ hearts.

In a season that saw the Cowboys eliminated from playoff contention before Santa took the sleigh out of the garage, there hasn’t been much to cheer for.

Don’t get me wrong. There have been some good things.

The offense has been stellar after the additions of WR George Pickens and RB Javonte Williams.

Not to mention the ascension of WR Ryan Flournoy into a legitimate WR3 with WR2 written all over him.

The offensive line and rushing attack showed marked improvement in the Klayton Adams/Conor Riley era, and that set up Dak Prescott for one of his best seasons.

Prescott is on a tear, and as the leader of this prolific offense, deserves most of the credit for its success.

After throwing for 307 yards in Washington, Prescott again catapulted himself to the top of the NFL leaderboard in yet another stat.

300-Yard King

Dak Prescott’s sixth 300-yard game of the 2025 season (and fourth in the last five weeks) now puts him at the top of the mountain for such games.

That puts Prescott at the top of the list of very good company to have in 2025.

Here are the 300-yard leaders behind Dak Prescott:

  • Jared Goff, Detroit Lions (5)
  • Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers (4)
  • Bo Nix, Denver Broncos (4)
  • Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams (4)
  • Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals (4)

With Lions QB Jared Goff laying a six turnover stinker on Christmas night, he only has one game left to try and match Prescott at six games.

The rest of the list have two games left, each, but that also means they can only tie Prescott at six.

Nobody can pass the Cowboys quarterback this season, and he can be crowned the 300-yard king all by himself by throwing for 300 for a seventh time this season in the finale at New York.

Prescott’s Biggest Throws

Let’s shower Dak Prescott with more praise by highlighting his longest completion from each 300-yard passing game this season.

Week 2 vs New York Giants (361)

Dak Prescott and Russell Wilson had an all-time shootout at AT&T Stadium that eventually went in the Cowboys favor.

Out of several key throws, Prescott’s longest completion was a 33-yard dart to WR CeeDee Lamb up the left sideline with Giants CB Paulson Adebo in coverage.

Week 4 vs Green Bay Packers (319)

In another OT thriller, this time ending in a tie, Prescott delivered with 319 passing yards to counter the defense’s fallacies.

The result was a 40-40 tie, and Prescott’s longest throw was a 34-yard prayer to WR Jalen Tolbert in overtime.

It was a crucial throw that set up K Brandon Aubrey for the go-ahead field goal.

Week 12 vs Philadelphia Eagles (354)

The 21-point comeback versus the rival Eagles might have been Prescott’s most impressive of the...
