Prescott and Lamb aim to hit milestones versus Chargers
Inside The Star Inside The Star

The Dallas Cowboys enter Week 16 looking for a victory against Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Unfortunately, the Eagles’ victory over the Washington Commanders has officially eliminated the Cowboys from playoff contention.

No matter, according to HC Brian Schotttenheimer, the Cowboys will play to win, regardless of the circumstances.

Nearing the end of the season, there will be players hitting milestones with stats, and one of those players is Dak Prescott.

Prescott has a chance to add to a great season, and he has three games left to tie a Cowboys’ franchise record for most 4,000 yard passing seasons with Tony Romo.

WR CeeDee Lamb is another player who can hit a milestone versus the Chargers by reaching 1,000 yards receiving for the fifth time in the last five seasons.

Cowboys fans will anxiously watch the game, waiting for each player to be shown on the big screen with a caption announcing their accomplishment.

Hitting a Milestone

Dak Prescott currently sits with 3,931 passing yards, just 69 yards shy of that 4,000 yard mark.

With the way the Cowboys are able to throw the ball, he might hit 4000 yards in the first quarter.

The Chargers’ defense will do its best to limit Prescott and the high-powered Cowboys offense, but it would take a miracle to keep Prescott from throwing for 69 yards.

Bottling up CeeDee Lamb might be a more realistic expectation, but he needs just 24 yards to hit 1,000 for the season.

The Weapons

Prescott has had the advantage of weapons on offense to throw the ball to.

We already knew WR CeeDee Lamb was a force to be reckoned with, but the Cowboys added George Pickens via trade, and it changed the entire dynamic of the offense.

Pickens is the Cowboys’ leading receiver, and entering Week 16, he trailed only Jaxon Smith-Njigba for the NFL lead.

Prescott has also had Jake Ferguson, who at one point led all tight ends in catches early in the season.

He has since cooled off, but the threat of his playmaking is always there.

Lamb has also remained one of Prescott’s top weapons, even with Pickens’ presence on the other side of the field.

Despite missing four games with a high ankle sprain, Lamb needs just 24 yards to hit 1,000 yards for the season.

He has used six 100-yard games to get there, including hitting the 100-yard mark in each of the last three games.

The Cowboys are playing for pride and draft position at this point, but they will likely try to put on a show for the last home game of 2025.

Prescott and Lamb should hit their milestones early, and hopefully add many more yards before the game is over.
