Predicting what the Browns’ record will be by the bye week

The Cleveland Browns have three more games on their schedule before their bye week in early November. After a challenging 1-4 start, let’s predict where the Browns’ record will most likely be going into the bye week.

Game 1: Away @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Cleveland is on the road this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which historically is a very challenging place for this team to play. The Browns are 0-15 in the regular season when playing in Pittsburgh for the last 15 seasons. Given the Steelers’ 3-1 start, their recent bye, and the Browns’ offensive struggles, it would be surprising for Cleveland to secure a win in this game. The Browns are clear underdogs going into the game.

Game 2: Home vs. Miami Dolphins

The Browns’ only home game in this stretch is scheduled for October 19th against the Miami Dolphins. Given the Dolphins’ struggles this season and significant injuries to the offensive line and star wide receiver Tyreek Hill, Cleveland has an opportunity to win this game. Miami currently has the same record as the Browns at 1-4 and is largely ranked near the bottom of the league. The Cleveland defense has a chance to take over this game and bring the fans a win at home.

Game 3: Away @ New England Patriots

The Browns’ final game of this stretch comes on the road against the New England Patriots, led by head coach Mike Vrabel, who was employed by Cleveland last season. They are 3-2 so far on the season, recently giving the Super Bowl-contending Buffalo Bills their first loss. Drake Maye has continued to grow in his role, and New England has one of the more talented defenses in the league. The Patriots are 4-0 in their last four matchups against the Browns, so this will be another challenging one for Cleveland to win on the road.

With these three matchups, the Browns will likely be 2-6 going into the bye week, but anything is possible with this team, including a 4-4 record or sitting at 1-7 when the bye week arrives.
