Pre-Snap Reads 8/7: Seahawks (preseason) gameday!
Field Gulls Field Gulls

We’ve waited and waited and waited and now it’s finally here. Seattle Seahawks football is back with a special preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Ordinarily, it’s just preseason and we know it’ll be filled with backups, vanilla play-calling, and probably not a lot of scoring. This preseason game is different because it’s Pete Carroll’s first game as head coach against the Seahawks… ever. He’s never coached versus the Seahawks in preseason, regular season, or postseason in his previous stints with the New England Patriots and New York Jets.

However fans may feel about Geno Smith and Jamal Adams, who are both on the Raiders and have divided opinion (to put it mildly) over the years, there will be cheers for Carroll, the man who delivered the only Super Bowl win in franchise history. Whether we see a pre-game tribute package remains to be seen, but I hope we get one.
