Happy Friday! We’re two days away from the Super Bowl, after which point everyone will have begun their 2025 NFL offseason. The Seattle Seahawks made a big move by restructuring Leonard Williams’ contract, opening up cap room but still not enough to be cap compliant.

There was disappointment among Seahawks (and probably Green Bay Packers) fans when Mike Holmgren was denied his place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. If not now, when? And with the Class of 2025 restricted to only four members, is this the way forward or just a one-off? It feels ominous that unless there are more changes to the voting system, Seahawks players in general, including the ones who won a Super Bowl, may find it hard to immediately get into the HOF. Maybe Bobby Wagner is an exception. Maybe.

I want to also note that you might see a link to Emerald City Spectrum here. That’s the new independent sports media venture started by Seahawks beat reporter Corbin Smith, who parted ways with the new publisher that now oversees Seahawks on SI. Check it out while the site is free in a soft launch over the next couple of weeks! We need more spaces in sports media, not fewer.
