The New Orleans Saints are not expected to move star wide receiver Chris Olave prior to the trade deadline, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. That doesn’t bode well for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as they’ve been linked to the former Ohio State receiver over the last few months.

“Barring an unforeseen change. The Saints are not expected to move WR Chris Olave despite interested suitors. Last week, I reported that the two sides are discussing an extension,” Russini reports.

Russini notes that the Steelers and Buffalo Bills are two teams to watch for in the receiver market.

The Steelers have been keeping their eyes out for a No. 2 wide receiver since trading George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys in the offseason

When healthy, Olave has been very impressive, recording 217 catches for 2,750 yards (12.7 average) and and 11 touchdowns in his career.

However, Olave would come at a risk, too. He has had a myriad of concussions throughout his football career.

Olave missed one game with a concussion in Week 6 last season, returned, and then suffered another concussion in Week 9 that cost him the rest of his season. It was the fourth concussion of his professional career and fifth since starting college.

Olave, 24, was the No. 11 overall pick of the Saints in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. He posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons to start his NFL career, but struggled through poor quarterback play and concussions in 2024.
