Another potential option at wide receiver is off the board for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers made an attempt to land wide receiver Jakobi Meyers from the Las Vegas Raiders at the NFL trade deadline. However, they were outbid by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who acquired the veteran wide receiver on a one-year deal.
Unfortunately, for those still holding out hope that the Steelers could potentially land him as a free agent in 2026, that is no longer a possibility.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Jaguars signed Meyers to a three-year, $60 million deal, locking him up through the 2028 season.

Meyers, 29, has made an immediate impact since joining the Jaguars. He has recorded 27 catches for 355 yards and three touchdowns in six games, which Jacksonville has gone 5-1.
Meanwhile, the Steelers have done their best to fill their void at wide receiver with veterans like Adam Thielen and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who have combined for three catches for 30 yards and a touchdown.
Thielen, 35, and Valdes-Scantling, 31, also do not have the long-term outlook like Meyers does. So Pittsburgh will need to continue its search elsewhere in 2026.
The seventh-year veteran is considered more of a route-running, separation specialist, who would have paired well with Metcalf’s explosive playmaking.
An undrafted free agent out of the 2019 NFL Draft, Meyers has recorded 453 receptions for 5,299 yards and 23 touchdowns in his professional career.
