Finally, some good news to report!
Will the Cincinnati Bengals finally pay Tee Higgins?
With NFL free agency inching closer, the Bengals have a very stressful couple of weeks coming up. Will they sign Higgins to a long-term deal? Will they use the franchise tag for a second straight year? Or will they bungle this up and let Higgins walk for nothing?
We finally have a positive update to share, and it comes from Bleacher Report’s James Palmer, who says the buzz is that Cincinnati is looking like the favorite for where Higgins will be next season.
“Right now, the buzz is there’s a greater chance of him returning to Cincinnati than going elsewhere, said Palmer. “That really is the talk here in New Orleans, that there’s a greater chance of him coming back to Cincinnati than him hitting the open market.”
This is the first real positive news we’ve gotten all offseason on Higgins’ status. We have heard Joe Burrow repeatedly express optimism that the Bengals will keep Higgins — the latest being Thursday on ESPN First Take — so this is nice to hear.
Of course, it’s not a done deal until the contract is signed, so it’s time for the Bengals to make sure it happens ASAP.
