A popular restaurant has decided to add more fuel to the Pittsburgh Steelers-Houston Texans rivalry before their playoff showdown on Monday night.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7) clinched a playoff berth by the slimmest of margins. They won the AFC North division crown when Baltimore Ravens rookie kicker Tyler Loop missed a game-winning 44-yard attempt.

Pittsburgh’s reward? A home playoff game against the Houston Texans, who finished two games up (12-5) in the standings. If the Texans win, it could potentially mark the final game of Aaron Rodgers’ legendary career.

Adding more juice to the Texans-Steelers game? The popular Primanti Bros. chain has announced that its restaurant locations will ban cowboy hats for the Pittsburgh Steelers-Houston Texans playoff game.

Here’s what company spokesperson Ryan Wilkinson said in a statement, per WTAE’s Caitlyn Scott:

“Listen, according to my mom, it’s bad manners to wear a hat inside. This ban is about ensuring our restaurants remain a classy place to be. It has nothing to do with the incoming Houston Texans. Along those lines – we’re also totally cool with painted faces, black and gold Zubaz pants, and hard hats. You know – pure class.”

The first Primanti Bros. restaurant opened in Pittsburgh in 1933. There are more than 40 locations across the eastern United States.

Pittsburgh Steelers Look To Win First Playoff Game Since 2016

The Steelers are aiming to win their first postseason game since 2016, while Houston is looking to reach the elite eight for the third straight year.

Pittsburgh last won a postseason game when it defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round at Arrowhead Stadium. They were one-and-done in 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024.

The Texans may have finished better in the standings, but the Steelers have home advantage and arguably the slight edge at quarterback.
