Police have released 911 audio of Kadarius Toney’s girlfriend telling cops she was seven months pregnant and holding her daughter after he allegedly strangled her. During the call, she also stated that she lives with the 26-year-old NFL wide receiver in Douglasville, Georgia.

TMZ, which obtained the 911 audio, says she placed the call at 12:01 p.m. on Jan. 14 to let police know that Toney had attacked her. The woman told the 911 dispatcher that “he put his hands on me while I was holding my daughter” and that she is “seven months pregnant.”

When asked if she needed to have an ambulance sent to the scene, the woman replied that she didn’t “feel any, like, contractions or anything. So, no.” She also told the dispatcher that she was at a neighbor’s house where she had fled to barefoot.

According to a police report, Toney left “red marks on her neck and cause[d] Petechial Hemorrhaging in her eyes” after putting his hands around the woman’s throat and squeezing “with enough force to cause her to be unable to breathe.” He also, according to the alleged victim, took her cellphone from her during the incident in an effort to prevent her from calling 911.

An arrest warrant was issued for Kadarius Toney the next day, Jan. 15. Toney was eventually arrested and placed in the Douglas County jail on Feb. 6. He was charged with aggravated assault-strangulation and obstructing/harassing a 911 call. Police records show that he was given a bond of $25,000 for each count and had been released from custody no later than Feb. 7. The assault charge is a felony in Georgia and if found guilty, Toney could face up to 20 years in prison.

Kadarius Toney was selected by the New York Giants in the first round (20th pick) of the 2021 NFL draft out of the University of Florida. He signed a four-year contract worth $13.7 million with the Giants and was then was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. While with Kansas City, Toney set a Super Bowl record with a 65-yard punt return and caught a touchdown pass in the Chiefs’ 38–35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He played in three games with the Cleveland Browns in 2024 before being released on December 10th.
