The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that they have signed Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig, and social media is in stitches.

Pittsburgh made the roster move on Tuesday, signing Montana Lemonious-Craig as an undrafted free agent after two seasons at Arizona. If that name sounds familiar, it was the name of a fictional football player on the beloved “Key & Peele” comedy series. Yes, you read that correctly.

Hosted by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, the “Key & Peele” series produced 54 episodes over five seasons on Comedy Central. One of the show’s main sketches was the “East/West Bowl,” which featured fictional college players with hilarious names.

And we kid you not: Montana Lemonious-Craig was one of the names used in the East/West Bowl sketch, as noted by the MLFootball X/Twitter account:

The Steelers have a long and rich history of finding stud wide receivers after the first round (Hines Ward, Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson, George Pickens, et al). We’ll find out if they struck gold by taking a chance on the undrafted rookie, too.

Montana Lemonious-Craig Played Five Seasons Of College Football

Lemonious-Craig spent his first three college seasons at Colorado (2020 to 2022), recording 34 receptions for 497 yards and five touchdowns in 23 games.

He then transferred to the University of Arizona for his last two NCAA seasons. Lemonious-Craig appeared in 24 games and caught 45 passes for 468 yards and four touchdowns, helping the Wildcats to a victory over Oklahoma in the 2023 Alamo Bowl.
