Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers are in Dublin, Ireland in Week 4 to take on the Minnesota Vikings. Both teams are 2-1, so it’s not only an exciting time for the individual fanbases, but also for the locals in Ireland who get to witness what may be their first football game in person.

Unfortunately, the trip to Ireland has not been a thrilling adventure for one of the Steelers’ players.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Steelers quarterback Skylar Thompson was robbed in Dublin before the game kicked off on Sunday. In fact, the incident actually took place on Friday.

Though, even with Rodgers installed as Pittsburgh’s starting quarterback, this incident won’t impact the Steelers on gameday. Thompson was already on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Yet, while Thompson is okay, he did suffer some minor injuries as a result of the robbery.

Thompson remains with the team for Sunday’s game, and the Steelers have been quiet on the matter, but team spokesman Burt Lauten did release a brief statement.

“We are aware of a situation involving Skylar Thompson on Friday night in Dublin,” Lauten said. “We will have no further comment at this time as we are working with NFL security to gather more information regarding the incident.”

Thompson, 28, is in his fourth NFL season. He’s appeared in 10 games, including three starts. Thompson has earned a total of $3.2 million in his pro football career thus far.
