PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have made six players inactive for Sunday’s Week 9 home game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Offensive lineman Andrus Peat and defensive tackle Logan Lee are both healthy scratches for the game. Safety Chuck Clark, linebacker Cole Holcomb, wide receiver Scotty Miller and safety Jabrill Peppers had been previously ruled out.
Clark and Holcomb had previously been ruled out with unspecified illnesses that caused them to miss practice time this week.
Peppers was ruled out on Friday with a quad injury suffered during practice that caused him to be limited on Thursday and miss practice on Friday.
With DeShon Elliott placed on injured reserve where he joined Miles Killebrew, Peppers hurt and Clark sick, the Steelers will be down to just Kyle Dugger, who was acquired mid-week in a trade with the New England Patriots, at strong safety.
Miller will miss his second game with a broken finger suffered in practice before the Green Bay Packers game last week.
Peat has been inactive for every game this season after joining the team in the middle of training camp. It looked like he might play this week after Isaac Seumalo left the Packers’ game with a pec injury, but Seumalo is dressed for this week’s game, despite being limited in practice on Thursday and Friday.
Lee has been dressed for just two games this season. With Daniel Ekuale going on the injured reserve, the Steelers have just five defensive linemen available to them on Sunday, though outside linebacker DeMarvin Leal can play tackle.
Lew Nichols and Trey Sermon, who were elevated from the practice squad on Saturday, are both dressed for the game and are expected to contribute on special teams.
