The Pittsburgh Steelers already dealt with an offseason of drama as they waited to learn more about Aaron Rodgers’ plans for the upcoming football year. After months of waiting, Rodgers finally announced he would be signing with the Steelers.
But that didn’t put an end to the drama.
Now another Steelers starter, All-Pro defensive lineman Cameron Heyward, is being a bit difficult. His Steelers teammates are busy going through full practices in the heat of the summer training camp, but Heyward is only participating on a limited basis.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Heyward reportedly wants a raise over the $14.75 million he’s set to make in 2025. While he’s going on his age 36 year, Heyward is also coming off his fourth first-team All-Pro season of his career.
Heyward has spent 14 seasons in his career, he’s about to enter his 15th with the Steelers. Heyward is also set to earn $14.5 million in 2026. Though, if he gets a contract adjustment, Heyward’s salary next season is likely to rise too.
The Steelers are aware of Heyward’s demands, but they have yet to make “any progress” toward a new deal.
