The City of Pittsburgh was ranked 10th in the Top-10 NFL Destinations of the 2025-2026 NFL Season–a testament to the football town.
The Pittsburgh Steelers fanbase is known to be one that historically has traveled well. It turns out, they are also among the best cities to host football travelers. On Tuesday, Penn Stakes gave the rundown of the top-10 football city destinations.
Pittsburgh ranked number 10 of the Best NFL Cities to Travel to for 2025-2026 Season. Among the factors, writer Jim Tomlins explained how the rankings were made, “We used a ranking system for the best NFL destination cities based on average NFL ticket price, average 4-star hotel cost, average rating of the top 10 activities, how easy local travel is (public transportation, rideshares, etc.), the number and quality of local airports, and the local food and bar scene.”
Pittsburgh has often been referred to as a destination city. Tomlin and Penn Stakes have reinforced this in their rankings. Tomlin also mentioned the signing of Aaron Rodgers played a factor in the ranking as it seems to have increased their chances of playing in the postseason.
Interestingly enough, three of four AFC North are accounted for in these rankings. The lone city left off was Cincinnati.
Pittsburgh’s multiple lodging options on the North Shore, Downtown, and South Hills certainly played a factor in this. Additionally, the diverse culture and dining options throughout the area provide a unique experience for travelers. It also helps to have a railway that directly drops off at the gates of Acrisure Stadium.
For Steelers fans, Pittsburgh joins three destination cities listed on the 2025 schedule. Pittsburgh will travel to Cleveland, Baltimore, and Chicago this season. Last season, they played in six of the top-10 cities including Indianapolis and Atlanta.
