Oh man, with the site changes and getting acclimated to a new full-time job things have been a little hectic. Which is what I’m blaming for the “totally not 100% my fault” error of forgetting to finish my annual Plays That Defined the Buffalo Bills’ season series. We were close though. There’s only four plays to choose from, so let’s just do it in one fell swoop. As a final reminder, until next year at least, it’s not necessarily the “best” play you’re voting for. It’s the play that best tells the narrative of the 2024 season.
This touchdown likely needs no introduction, but you’re getting one anyway. In the regular-season matchup, the Bills looked to try and ice the game by going for it on 4th & 2 rather than kicking a field goal. Josh Allen made that decision look very wise.
Now that we have a bright spot against Kansas City out of the way, who can forget this darker moment in the AFC Championship Game? Clearly not the fans reading this as it has overwhelmingly won its contests to this point. Will it define the entirety of the 2024 season?
This play might feel out of place compared to the other three, but maybe you voters have seen a hidden narrative from this one. Perhaps the thought is that the Bills were frequently successful not through their own merits, but due to the miscues of others? Or maybe it’s just a fun play.
Here’s our other Josh Allen miracle touchdown. If you’re looking for a successful moment from Josh Allen to define the season, there’s going to be a tough decision to be had.
