Internet detectives noticed a popular ESPN reporter “liking” anti-Donald Trump and anti-ICE posts on her Instagram account.
Back in 2019, ESPN reportedly sent out a reminder to it’s employees to avoid discussing politics after popular radio host Dan Le Batard criticized President Donald Trump. Two years earlier, then-ESPN employee Jemele Hill faced criticism for calling Trump a white supremacist on Twitter.
Hill was later suspended for two weeks by the network after sending out a tweet calling for fans to boycott the Dallas Cowboys when owner Jerry Jones demanded his players stand for the national anthem.
The thing about ESPN’s employees needing to avoid discussing politics is popping up again, thanks to social media activity from one of their reporters.
Taylor Tannebaum, who’s worked for the ACC Network since 2022, was caught “liking” a post from UCLA student Jamie Han, who destroyed President Donald Trump and ICE in her graduation speech that went viral.
In her speech, Han said, “F**k ICE and F**k the Trump administration.”
You can see screenshot of Tannebaum “liking” the anti-Donald Trump video below, but be warned it contains language that is NSFW:
Weird that @espn threatened people like Sage and Ashley Brewer and Sam Ponder for social media activity but I’m sure they’ll take no action on whoever @TaylorTannebaum is for being cool w/UCLA Valedictorian and her “fuck trump” and “fuck ICE” @burackbobby_ Prob gets a raise. pic.twitter.com/QXGgQjR6mO

I asked ESPN why it sent Sam Ponder an angry email for "liking" a tweet from Megyn Kelly saying "men don’t need gynecologists," but didn't do the same after @TaylorTannebaum "liked" a post saying "F**k Trump" and "F**k ICE."
ESPN had no comment.https://t.co/DQAu21jxTT

Whether or not Tannebaum will be spoken to or disciplined by her employees remains to be seen. Though Tannebaum “liked” the post, she didn’t outright say anything publicly about Trump or ICE, so one can argue that she technically didn’t break ESPN’s rules.
According to The Economist, Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped significantly since February. It was +2 at the time, but it’s dropped down to -14, with 55 percent of people disapproving of his job in the White House.
Trump has lost considerable support from the extreme “MAGA” loyalists, who are disgruntled with his refusal to release the Epstein Files.
