Football analyst Robert Griffin III is back in the center of a social media feud about Chicago Sky All-Star Angel Reese.
However, he did take some time to call out social media trolls in defense of her.
A shocking display of racism rocked the sports world after an offensive fan-made image targeting WNBA star Angel Reese began circulating online.
The disturbing social media post depicted Reese with a monkey image photoshopped onto her face following her appearance on an NBA 2K26 cover.
Former Washington Commanders quarterback Robert Griffin III took to X to call out the blatant racism.
“Alright. This has got to stop. There is no place for racism in this world. Whether you like a player or not. Angel Reese should never be called or depicted as a Monkey,” he wrote.

Griffin’s post quickly went viral and emphasized that criticism of an athlete’s performance or behavior should never cross into racism.
He also made it clear that his history with Reese had no bearing on his stance against the image.
“I have been quiet on the Angel Reese front because she shared a video that aided in my wife, kids, family, and friends receiving death threats, threats of physical harm… and threats of sexual violence to my children on social media and beyond. That will never be okay with me.”
Angel Reese called out Robert Griffin III for his take on her not liking Caitlin Clark.
She never mentioned his name, but it was clear it was about him.
“Lying on this app when everybody know the first and last name of everybody in my circle for clout is nastyyyy work,” Reese wrote.
Her post came after Griffin called out people who attacked Reese after she was named a cover athlete for NBA 2K26.
“People in Angel’s inner circle called me and told me I was right and Angel Reese has grown to hate Caitlin Clark because of the media always asking her about Caitlin and being constantly compared to her,” Griffin wrote. “Some people made it about race, but I never did and never will. Instead of becoming the villain in anyone’s story, I decided to just not.”
Reese’s mother, who is also named Angel, responded to Griffin’s original post by saying, “Man stop with the (cap). My daughter’s ‘circle’ is so small and tight so I’d be interested (to) know who called (you). Whomever (you) said ‘called’ (you) is not in her circle to speak on her feelings towards a media/fandom made-up beef.”
