Joey Bosa’s mother, Cheryl Bosa, has dropped a fascinating hint about which team he might land if the Los Angeles Chargers choose to part ways with the five-time Pro Bowler.
The 29-year-old Joey Bosa has one year remaining on his contract with the Bolts. Per OvertheCap.com, the Bolts would save $25.36 million against the cap if they released or traded him this offseason.
Bosa was widely mentioned as a potential cut candidate last year, but he agreed to a restructured deal to help the team out. First-year GM Joe Hortiz also brought back rumored roster cut Khalil Mack but moved on from wide receivers Keenan Allen (traded to the Chicago Bears) and Mike Williams (released).
On her Instagram story, Cheryl Bosa shared a photoshopped image of Joey and younger brother Nick Bosa in San Francisco 49er jerseys with the “shocked” emoji:

Is it possible that she knows something the rest of us don’t regarding a potential trade to San Francisco? We’ll find out in the coming weeks…or potentially days.
Joey was drafted third overall by the Chargers in 2016 following a decorated career at Ohio State. Three years later, fellow Buckeye product Nick was selected with the No. 2 pick by the 49ers.
While Nick is still in his prime, Joey had a down year (five sacks in 14 games) and has failed to hit double-digit sacks in four of the last five years. With his twilight years looming, the elder Bosa brother should definitely consider going to the 49ers if the Chargers move on.
The 49ers already have a top-tier front seven led by Nick, Fred Warner and Javon Hargrave. If healthy, Joey Bosa could be the difference-maker to help Kyle Shanahan and company finally get their hands on that Lombardi Trophy.
