Former Los Angeles Rams superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald teased a potential NFL return with some interesting social media activity.

Last week, Dallas Cowboys All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons requested a trade with a scathing post on X/Twitter. Parsons, entering the final year of his rookie deal, has grown frustrated with the lack of progress in contract negotiations.

An Instagram user posted a photoshopped image of Parsons in a Rams jersey, and Aaron Donald took note. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year floated the idea of coming out of retirement and playing for the Rams if they somehow landed Parsons.

The star linebacker even responded to Donald’s comment:

An Instagram user posted an edit of Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons in a Rams uniform.

Aaron Donald commented and said if Micah joined the Rams he might have to get in football shape.

Donald certainly showed no signs of slowing down in his final playing season with the Rams in 2023, recording eight sacks en route to Pro Bowl and First-team All-Pro honors. Donald considered retirement after the Rams’ Super Bowl 56 triumph, but played two more seasons before calling it quits after his age-32 campaign.

The Rams won the NFC West last season with a 10-7 effort, thanks largely to an elite front seven led by Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse and young studs Braden Fiske, Byron young and Kobie Turner.

If they somehow landed Micah Parsons AND got Aaron Donald to come out of retirement? You could just hand the Rams the Super Bowl.

Aaron Donald Was The Best Defensive Player Of His Era

Donald was far and away the best NFL defensive player of the 2010s, winning three DPOY Awards (2017, 2018 and 2020) over a four-year period. He racked up 111 sacks, 24 forced fumbles and 21 pass breakups in his career, earning Pro Bowl nods in each of his 10 seasons.

Winning Super Bowl 56 was the cherry on top of Donald’s legendary career. Assuming he stays in retirement, he’ll enter the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2029.
