Philadelphia is pulling away in the NFC East
Inside The Star Inside The Star

While the Philadelphia fan base is ready to crown the Eagles back-to-back NFC East and Super Bowl champions in 2025, the rest of the NFL world remains unconvinced.

At some point, the avalanche of breaks Philadelphia has been getting the last year and a half will turn against them.

Probably about the same time that the NFL instructs its officials to properly call the Tush Push. It’s bad enough all the false starts and offsides have gone uncalled.

What still might save the Eagles is just how woefully bad the rest of the NFC East really is.

Now the officials are ignoring clear fumbles and recoveries by the defense. Not to mention calling offensive pass interference when it was clearly defensive pass interference.

It almost makes one wonder what Howie Roseman has on Roger Goodell…

Dallas Cowboys (3-4-1)

The combined record of the three teams Dallas has beaten in 2025 is 6-18. The combined record of the four teams they have lost to, along with the one tie: 25-12-1.

Five of the final nine games of the season will be against teams that will likely have winning records at the time the game is played.

Denver had a winning record before, and after, beating the Cowboys on Sunday.

That would see the Cowboys finish the season at 7-9-1 and definitely missing the playoffs. It would also put an end to the Dak Prescott for MVP talk.

New York Giants (2-6)

The Giants are a cursed franchise. Not only did they get cheated out of a turnover that might have turned the entire game, they also lost their great rookie running back for the year.

The Giants are likely looking at yet another losing season and will hope they have Cam Skattebo back and 100% next year.

It will also probably be Brian Daboll’s last as head coach.

Philadelphia Eagles (6-2)

Yes, the Eagles have a 2.5 game lead in the NFC East now. They’ve been getting more than their fair share of breaks too.

Sooner or later, that kind of luck runs out.

Especially as Philadelphia has a tough stretch of the schedule coming up.

The Eagles will likely win the division. But they won’t have home field advantage after the first round.

Which pretty much ends any chance of them defending their Super Bowl crown in California in February.

Washington Commanders (3-5)

The Commanders are coming unglued. A team that was one win from the Super Bowl back in late January is getting run over by every team they face lately.

It seems highly unlikely, especially based on the overall effort in the Monday night loss to Kansas City.
