The Philadelphia Eagles have found out who their 2025 season-opening opponents will be ahead of the NFL’s full schedule release.
The Eagles, now the reigning Super Bowl champions, will have the luxury of kicking things off at home in a Thursday night affair.
The two-time champs have one of the toughest groups of opponents to play in the upcoming season. Ten of their fixtures will be against teams that made the playoffs last season.
According to reports, their opening-night matchup won’t feature such a team, but it will present a mouthwatering matchup against bitter NFC East rivals the Dallas Cowboys.
The game will be played on September 4 at Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the reigning champions.

Philly dominated the Cowboys in both of their 2024 meetings, with Dallas scoring just 13 points over the two games.
Their first matchup, on November 10, saw the Eagles cruise to a 34-6 win away from home. They beat America’s Team 41-7 in Philadelphia on December 29.
With both franchises making major offseason moves, it will be interesting to see how things shape up when they meet.
The Cowboys expect a fully healthy Dak Prescott back following his season-ending hamstring injury in Week 9 of last season. While the quarterback has admitted he’s not up to full speed yet, things are on track for him to be ready for Week 1.
Meanwhile, the complete NFL schedule will be officially released this Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. ET.
